This project involved the design and development of an interactive, web-based game aimed at fostering connection and self-reflection within a fully remote team. Conceived as a fun and low-risk virtual team-building activity, the game guides participants through a series of animal-themed questions, with AI-generated scenarios adding a unique twist. The experience culminates in personalized interpretations of their animal choices and an interactive spinning wheel for group sharing. My role encompassed driving the game's core concept, defining the user experience, overseeing the content strategy, and conducting rigorous testing, ensuring a smooth and engaging journey for both the organizer and participants.

I was tasked with hosting a virtual team-building event to help our fully remote team connect better in a fun, interactive, and low-risk environment. This initiative was something I was particularly passionate about, drawing from past experiences as a team lead where such games proved invaluable in fostering connections and building stronger teams. The project was specifically requested by one of our project managers.
First and foremost, the game was designed to provide an opportunity for innocent fun and laughter. Beyond that, the goal was for participants to feel more connected, engage in self-reflection (especially regarding how they perceive themselves and their contributions to the team), and ultimately foster stronger team bonds. This unique interactive experience aims to break down virtual barriers, encourage lighthearted self-discovery, and create memorable shared moments among team members.
The primary challenge revolved around defining the intricate flow and functionality of the game. Each testing phase revealed new opportunities for refinement or missed elements, necessitating continuous iteration on what should happen and when. This iterative process of discovery and refinement, while challenging, ultimately contributed to a more robust and engaging experience. Beyond these developmental considerations, the project was a thoroughly enjoyable exercise in creative problem-solving and application design.
